Marquez Valdes-Scantling (born October 10, 1994 in Saint Petersburg , Florida ) is an American football player. He plays in the National Football League (NFL) for the Green Bay Packers as a wide receiver .

Career

Valdes-Scantling first played high school football at Lakewood High School . In his senior year he had 14 touchdowns. He then moved to North Carolina State University in 2013 and, after the 2015 season, to the University of South Florida .

In the 2018 NFL Draft , he was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the 5th round at number 174. He signed his contract as a rookie on May 7, 2018 and was used in the first game of the season against the Chicago Bears . In week four of the season he started as a replacement for the injured Randall Cobb for the first time from the beginning. in the following game against the Detroit Lions he finally scored his first touchdown. In total, Valdes-Scantling caught 38 passes in his first season in which he ran 581 yards and scored two touchdowns.
