Martín Bermúdez

Martín Bermúdez ( Martín Bermúdez Mendoza ; born July 19, 1958 ) is a former Mexican walker .

In 1979 he won silver in the 50 km walk at the Pan American Games in San Juan . Over the same distance he did not reach the finish line at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow. In 1983 he won silver again at the Pan American Games in Caracas and was disqualified at the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki . The same fate befell him at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

1985 in Nassau he was Central America and Caribbean champion over 50 km. At the Central America and Caribbean Games in 1986, he won the 50 km walk and won silver in the 20 km walk . In 1987 he won over 50 km at the Pan American Games in Indianapolis and was fifth at the World Cup in Rome .

At the Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988 he came in 15th place over 50 km.

In 1989 he won the Central America and Caribbean Championships over 20 km, and in 1991 he was eleventh over 50 km at the World Championships in Tokyo .

In 1983 he was US champion and in 1988 Canadian champion over 50 km.
