Martín Hernández (sound engineer)
Martín Hernández (born June 1, 1964 in Mexico City ) is a Mexican radio presenter and sound engineer .
Life
Martín Hernández discovered his love for radio while he was in college . He broke off his studies and started working as a radio host at the Mexican stations WFM and Radioactivo 98.5 at the age of 20. As a sound engineer, he commutes between Los Angeles and his hometown Mexico City. He is under contract with Warner Bros. and enjoys working with director Alejandro González Iñárritu , whom he knew from his work for WFM. He has been nominated for three BAFTAs so far and in 2001 received the Mexican film prize Premio Ariel for sound with Amores Perros . He was nominated a total of five times for the film award. For the sound editor with Birdman or (The unexpected power of ignorance) , he was at the Oscars in 2015 for the Oscar nominated. Another nomination followed in 2016 for The Revenant .
