Martín Rodríguez Alba (born July 31, 1970 in San José ) is a former Uruguayan football player on the position of the striker .

Life

Martín "Pescador" Rodríguez emerged from the offspring of his home club CA San Lorenzo (San José), with whom he became champion in 1985 in the Cuarta División . He contributed to this with 30 hits. During his time in San José he also played for the junior selection of the department and finally came there to appearances in the men's selection. In 1990 and 1991 he was with the Campeon del Sur team . He moved to Peñarol in Montevideo in 1991 ; one of the two giants of Uruguayan football . He was a member of the Aurinegros until 1996. During this period, Peñarol won the Uruguayan championship in the 1991, 1993, 1994, 1995 and 1996 seasons. At least in 1992, 1993, 1995 and 1996 Rodríguez was part of the professional team. However, he did not make his debut in Uruguayan professional football until July 14, 1994. In the Copa Libertadores 1995 he also came to a club assignment on an international level.

After a stint at River Plate Montevideo , where he was Uruguayan top scorer with 13 goals in 1998, tied with Rubén Sosa , who once played for Borussia Dortmund, he moved to Mexico in 1999 . There he was initially under contract for a few months with CF Atlante and made his debut on January 28, 1999 for the Mexicans. Before the 1999/00 season he moved to the second division CD Irapuato , with whom he won both the Apertura 1999 and the Clausura 2000 of the Primera División 'A' and thus made it to the first division . Rodríguez was under contract with Irapuato until the end of 2001 and won the top scorer's crown in the last half-season (2001) of the Freseros in the winter 2001 season of the Mexican league with his twelve goals , before the club's first division license - and with it a number of players, including Rodríguez - on the CD Veracruz was transferred. His last stop in Mexico was San Luis FC , where he was under contract in early 2004.

He then returned to his home in San Lorenzo, also played for Central and again for the Department selection, with which he was Campeon del Sur for the third time in 2006 . In December 2010 he ended his active career.

In the 2010 Clausura he took part in the futsal competition of the Liga Maragata de Futsal with Atlético Candelaria .
