Marta Fox

Marta Fox (born January 1, 1952 in Siemianowice Śląskie ) is a Polish poet, novelist and essayist.

Life

Marta Fox completed her studies in Polish Philology at the Uniwersytet Śląski in Katowice in 1974 and worked as a teacher and librarian at the Broniewski Gymnasium in Katowice from 1974 to 1995. In addition, she worked a. a. as editor of the Warsaw “Młodą Sztukę” (1987-1989), was from 1993 to 1994 with the “Górnośląskiego Diariusza Kulturalnego”, organized the poetry competition “Inspiracje”, was editor of the literary quarterly “Wyrazy” and director of the children's theater in 1996/97 Katowice. She is a member of the Polish Writers' Union SPP.

Marta Fox made her debut in 1989 in the magazine "TAK i NIE" with the story Gra , for which she received the Grand Prix in the literary competition in Lubin . Her poems have been translated into English and Spanish and translated into German by Tina Stroheker and Dieter Kalka and published in the Muschelhaufen 2001. She was a participant in the German-Polish poet steamer and performed with the "literary bed" (Tina Stroheker, Marek Śnieciński and Dieter Kalka) in Stuttgart, Ochsenwang and at the literary autumn in Leipzig 1998. At the invitation of the Polish Minister of Culture, she was part of the “Poland exquisite” program at the Frankfurt / Main Book Fair 2000.
