Marta Hirpato Yota (born May 12, 1997 ) is a Bahraini middle-distance runner of Ethiopian origin.

Athletic career

Marta Yota gained her first international experience at the 2015 Arab Championships in Manama , where she won the silver medal in the 800-meter run in 2: 08.19 minutes . At the Military World Games in Mungyeon, South Korea, she finished seventh in 2: 07.52 minutes. In 2016 she won the gold medal at the Asian Indoor Championships in Doha in 2: 04.59 minutes ahead of Nimali Liyanarachchi from Sri Lanka. At the beginning of May she also won the Arab Junior Championships in Tlemcen and thus qualified for the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz , where she came fifth in 2: 06.04 min. She also competed with the Bahraini 4 x 400 meter relay, but was disqualified there in the preliminary stages. The following year she finished fifth at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku in 2: 04.30 minutes in the final.

In 2018 she took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta for the first time , where she finished seventh in 2: 08.12 minutes. In the following year she won the bronze medal at the Arab Championships in Cairo in 2: 08.55 min and was fifth in the subsequent Asian Championships in Doha in 2: 07.59 min.
