Martha Oberndorfer

Martha Oberndorfer (born May 9, 1962 in Krems an der Donau ) is an Austrian manager. From June 2015 to June 2018 she was Secretary General of the Austrian Federal and Industrial Participations (ÖBIB).

Life

Martha Oberndorfer grew up in Krems an der Donau, where she also attended school. After graduating from high school , she studied business administration and business education at the University of Linz . After graduating, she completed an MBA specializing in financial analysis from the University of Toronto . In 1991 she received her PhD with a dissertation on ethical investment . She also earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) title.

In 1992 she started working for Bank Gutmann , where she worked as a fund manager . In 1997 she moved to Kommunalkredit Austria and in 2006 to the board of the federal pension fund. From 2007, she worked as the managing director of an asset and management consultancy specializing in public finance management. In 2008 she was appointed to the Executive Board of the Austrian Federal Finance Agency (OeBFA) under Finance Minister Wilhelm Molterer , where she was responsible for the Treasury of the Republic of Austria . In this position she was succeeded by Markus Stix after Oberndorfer was appointed General Secretary of the Austrian Federal and Industrial Participations (ÖBIB) on June 8, 2015 as the successor to Rudolf Kemler . Her contract was initially concluded for three years until 2018. As Secretary General of ÖBIB, she was responsible for the state holdings in OMV , Telekom Austria , Austrian Post , APK Pension Fund and Casinos Austria .

Her contract as General Secretary of ÖBIB ended at the beginning of June 2018, Oberndorfer did not apply for an extension. At ÖBIB she was succeeded by the previous authorized signatory Walter Jöstl as interim manager.

She is a member of the supervisory board of Immigon Portfolio Abbau AG and the Carinthian compensation payment fund.
