Martin Adomeit

Martin Adomeit (born October 9, 1963 ) is a German table tennis trainer . He led the German women's national team to several international successes.

Career

From 1978 to 1980 Martin Adomeit worked in the youth division of the Soester TV and TuS Ampen clubs . In 1981 he joined the TuS Jahn Soest club , who played with his women in the Bundesliga . Here he trained the youngsters from 1981 to 1996. In 1984 he also took over as coach of the women's team. In addition, from 1988 to 1997 he was an honorary trainer for the West German table tennis association WTTV .

In 1996 Adomeit joined the German Table Tennis Association (DTTB) as an assistant trainer. In 1997 he ended all previous activities at the clubs and took over the office of national coach for women. Under his direction, the German women's team won the Europa League three times in a row . It also won the European Ladies Team Cup in 1998 and 1999 , gold at the 1998 European championship and silver in 2000 .

In October 2000, Adomeit was replaced by Richard Prause as a women's trainer. One of the reasons is the disappointment that the women's team did not win a medal at the 2000 World Cup . Adomeit now took over responsibility for the female offspring.

From August 2004 to April 2007, Adomeit worked as national coach and sports director in Luxembourg.

Award

The members of the Association of German Table Tennis Trainers VDTT voted Adomeit 1999 as Trainer of the Year.
