Martin Bartholdy

Martin Bartholdy , (born February 5, 1904 in Altbelgern , † February 22, 1965 in Hanover ) was a German archivist and writer .

Life

Bartholdy was born in 1904 in Altbelgern near Mühlberg / Elbe . Until the end of the Second World War he was employed as a documentator in the Berlin Reich Propaganda Ministry and then went to Hanover, where he worked as an archivist in the regional church archive . Here he initiated the establishment of a press clippings collection, which not only included press clippings but also smaller brochures and gray literature .

Bartholdy died on duty in February 1965. His press clippings collection remained untouched for about ten years. It was only continued on a smaller scale in 1975. Part of it was given to the collection of the Lower Saxony Heimatbund under Walther Lampe .
