Martin Bell

Martin Bell (born January 16, 1943 ) is an American director . He became known in 1984 through the documentary Streetwise , in which he portrayed street children from Seattle . For this he was nominated at the Sundance Film Festival for the Grand Jury Prize and received the Special Jury Prize . Together with Peter Silvermann , he later took up one of the fates from the film and in 1992 directed the feature film American Heart with Jeff Bridges and Edward Furlong . In 1999 he made the television film Brotherhood of Murder with William Baldwin about a white supremacy group .
