Martin Bercovici

Martin Bercovici (born August 24, 1902 in Bârlad ; † January 19, 1971 in Bucharest ) was a Romanian electrical engineer .

biography

Bercovici made a very valuable contribution to the elaboration of the plan for the electrification of Romania. During the Second World War he participated in the education of young Jews who had been expelled from state universities. He later became dean of the newly established Faculty of Power Engineering within the Bucharest Polytechnic University . In 1963, Martin Bercovici was elected a full member of the Romanian Academy .
