Martin Elze

Martin Elze (born September 26, 1927 in Rostock ) is a Protestant church historian.

Life

Elze, a son of Medicine professor Curt Elze and brother of the historian Reinhard Elze was after the promotion on March 1, 1958. Dr. theol. in Tübingen and his habilitation on June 24, 1964 at the University of Tübingen private lecturer . From 1967 to 1976 he taught as a full professor for the New Testament and church history (focus: patristics ) at the University of Hamburg . Since 1976 he has been pastor in Aschaffenburg and since 1980 Dean of the Deanery Würzburg andHonorary professor at the University of Würzburg .

He lives in Vormwald (Sommerkahl) and wrote several articles on the city history of Würzburg .
