Vormwald is a district of the community of Sommerkahl in the district of Aschaffenburg in Spessart in Bavaria .

The place is in the Kahlgrund on the district road 19 between Schöllkrippen and Jakobsthal at 300 m above sea level. NN . The Degen path runs through the village .
history
In the 16th and 17th centuries the place in front of the forest was built on the mountain slope.
On July 1, 1862, the Alzenau District Office was formed, on whose administrative area Vormwald lay. In 1939, as everywhere in the German Reich, the designation district was introduced. Vormwald was now part of the Alzenau district in Lower Franconia (license plate ALZ ). With the dissolution of the Alzenau district in 1972, Vormwald came to the newly formed Aschaffenburg district (license plate AB and, since 2013, ALZ again).
