The district of Alzenau in Lower Franconia (short district of Alzenau i.UFr. ) Belonged to the Bavarian administrative district of Lower Franconia . District town was Alzenau i.Ufr. The additional designation "in Lower Franconia" was used to demarcate Alzenau in Silesia (now Poland).

location
The district area was in today's Aschaffenburg district and included the entire Kahlgrund (except for Bamberger Mühle ). It reached from the Main in the west to over Eselshöhe to the Aubach in the east. The highest mountain in the Alzenau district was 522 m above sea level. NHN the Schindershöh near Heinrichsthal . District Office

The coat of arms symbolizes the historical development of the district. It indicates the centuries-long rule between the Archdiocese of Kurmainz (the Mainz wheel ) and the Counts of Hanau (the three rafters ). In the lower half of the shield the spiritual masters are represented (crook). It is reminiscent of the Seligenstadt Abbey and Aschaffenburg Abbey .
License Plate
On July 1, 1956, the district was assigned the distinguishing sign ALZ when the vehicle registration number that is still valid today was introduced . It was issued until April 28, 1973. Since July 11, 2013, it has been available again in the Aschaffenburg district due to the license plate liberalization .
