Reichenbach lies on the edge of the Spessart in the Kahlgrund at 225 m above sea level. NN between Mömbris and Johannesberg on the Reichenbach of the same name . To the north of Reichenbach are the villages of Hohl , Gunzenbach and Rothengrund . The town of Rückersbach is to the west . The topographically highest point of the village mark is located northeast of Rückersbach at 385 m above sea level. Surname
etymology
It takes its name from the eponymous Reichenbach Reichenbach , which flows through the town and in Mömbris in the Kahl leads. The place is popularly called "Reichemich".

history
The municipality of Reichenbach belonged to the Alzenau district office , which was formed on July 1, 1862. On January 1, 1939, this became part of the Alzenau district in Lower Franconia . With its dissolution, Reichenbach came to the newly formed district of Aschaffenburg on July 1, 1972 .
On January 1, 1976, the previously independent municipality of Reichenbach was incorporated into the Mömbris market.
Reichenbach is the oldest part of the market. On May 5, 1996 the millennium was celebrated.

The church of Reichenbach is located a little outside the village on a hill on the state road 2309 towards Johannesberg . The foundation stone was laid for this on October 3, 1948. The consecration took place on Pentecost, June 2nd and 3rd, 1952 under the name Auxilium Christianorum (Latin for Mary, help of Christians ).
