history

Schöllkrippen around 1800

Community merger

On January 1, 1811, the previously independent villages Waag , on the right of the Westerbach , Schellkrippen on the left of the Kahl , Gasse , on the road to Großlaudenbach, Ernstkirchen , Langenborn and Hofgut merged to form the community of Schöllkrippen. At that time they lived in about 750 people. The community went to Bavaria. From 1858 to 1943 the district or district court Schöllkrippen existed .

Administrative history

On July 1, 1862, the Alzenau District Office was formed, on whose administrative area Schöllkrippen was located. In 1939, as everywhere in the German Reich, the designation district was introduced. Schöllkrippen was now one of the 42 communities in the Alzenau district in Lower Franconia . When the Alzenau district was dissolved in 1972, Schöllkrippen moved to the newly formed Aschaffenburg district .

Incorporations

The previously independent municipality Schneppenbach was incorporated into Schöllkrippen on January 1, 1972. Hofstädten has also been part of Schöllkrippen since May 1, 1978 .

coat of arms

Blazon: Divided by red and gold; above a six-spoke silver wheel, below, growing out of a green mountain of three, three black maces, so-called morning stars.

Coat of arms history: After the Counts of Rieneck died out in 1559, Schöllkrippen came to the ore monastery of Mainz , where it remained from 1670 to 1803. The bishops of Mainz owned large parts of the area around Schöllkrippen as early as 1670. The six-spoke silver wheel in the red field is a reminder of the rule of Mainz . The colors are those of the Archdiocese of Mainz. The three morning stars in the lower part of the coat of arms are taken from an image seal of the Schöllkrippen office. The inscription is SIG. AMPT SCHÖLLKRIPPEN. The name Schöllkrippen is mentioned here, but it was certainly not a municipal seal. It is probably the personal coat of arms of an official resident in Schöllkrippen. The letters M and W added to the coat of arms on both sides reinforce this assumption. An official with this name letter is not known at this time. Since it is a rare heraldic figure, it was chosen for the new coat of arms.

The coat of arms was designed around 1950 and has been in use since 1954.

Economy and Infrastructure

economy

Due to the central location of Schöllkrippen, the market has blossomed into a shopping center in Kahlgrund since the mid-1990s. The numerous discounters open up the Spessart from Wiesen via Heigenbrücken to Heinrichsthal, the upper Kahlgrund from Geiselbach to Blankenbach, the middle Kahlgrund from Königshofen via Mömbris to Niedersteinbach, as well as Eichenberg, Rottenberg and Feldkahl.

After the parent company in Augsburg gave up the WashTec site in Schöllkrippen , the extensive halls and properties in the Ernstkirchen district (exit towards Blankenbach) were empty for almost three years. In mid-2006, the community managed to sell the Ernstkirchen Industrial Park to various companies. About two thirds of the area went to the Ferratec company from Hösbach, which has since housed its production machines here. The remaining area was shared by 4 smaller companies and the Schöllkrippen market, which built a new building yard there.

Kahlgrundbahn

Schöllkrippen is the seat of the Kahlgrund Verkehrs-GmbH (KVG), which owns the Kahl – Schöllkrippen railway line . Since December 13, 2015, this has been used by the Westfrankenbahn with trains that mainly run to Hanau Hbf.

The railcars of the Westfrankenbahn are serviced in the KVG workshop .

Bus routes

The KVG continues to operate its extensive bus network in the North Spessart as far as Aschaffenburg and the neighboring Hesse: New bus connections to Gelnhausen, Freigericht / Somborn and Heigenbrücken began operations on December 10, 2006 to better serve the region of Oberer Kahlgrund and its numerous commuters to connect neighboring federal states.

Natural adventure pool

When the outdoor pool, which had become too small, was renovated in 2003, the Schöllkrippen nature adventure pool was created . It is located east of Schoellkrippen on Höllenbach and offers 2,350 square meters of water in the lake reminiscent of a swimming area with unge chlorine- tem water. The centerpiece of the pool is the biological cleaning of the pool water in two separate regeneration ponds (2,200 m²).

Here, in a near-natural self-cleaning process, the impurities in the bathing water are converted into mineral salts in a purely biological way. Aquatic plants in the regeneration ponds, such as reeds and water lilies , use these nutrients and in this way give the bathroom its very special ambience. The water is very well tolerated by young and old as it does not contain any chemicals. The water quality is under constant control by the health authorities.
