The Wesemichshof , also Wesemichhof , is a wasteland belonging to Kleinkahl in the district of Aschaffenburg in the Bavarian Spessart in Lower Franconia . It was the seat of the Royal Bavarian Mining Office.

geography

The Wesemichshof is located in the upper Kahlgrund on the state road 2305 between Großkahl and the Bamberg mill on the Habersbach . To the west and east are the Habersberg (428 m) and the Lindenberg (400 m).

history

About one kilometer southwest of the Glashüttenhof was the first mine wash house in the Spessart around 1780 , which also housed the office of the mining office. It was a branch of the Royal Bavarian General Mining and Saline Administration in Munich and administered the mines in the Spessart. The ore mine “Help God” was located on the southeast slope of the Habersberg (not to be confused with the “Blessing God” mine near Huckelheim ). Copper and lead ores were mined there under the rule of the Counts of Schönborn until around 1835.

The wash house was abandoned around 1790 because the waste from the mine was harmful to the Kahl fish . In 1837 the building was demolished. Around 1930 the Wesemichshof consisted of three small houses and a few outbuildings. In the largest house there was a hammer mill to crush the extracted metals with an oversized mill wheel.

Today the Wesemichshof belongs to the municipality of Kleinkahl and is located in the district of Großkahl.
