Erlenbach also Erlenbach adKahl has been part of the municipality of Blankenbach in the Lower Franconian district of Aschaffenburg since 1966 .

geography

Erlenbach lies on the edge of the Spessart at 200  m above sea level. NN and has 141 inhabitants (as of 2010) . Erlenbach is located in the middle Kahlgrund on the state road 2305 between Kaltenberg and Kleinblankenbach .

Surname

Erlenbach takes its name from the Erlenbach , which flows through the town of the Kahl .

history

In the second half of the 13th century, Erlenbach is mentioned for the first time in Eppstein's fief register. At that time there was only a single farm on the boundary of today's village, with associated fields to the right of the Erlenbach .

On July 1, 1862, the Alzenau district office was formed, on whose administrative territory Erlenbach lay. In 1939, as everywhere in the German Reich, the designation district was introduced. Erlenbach now belonged to the Alzenau district in Lower Franconia (license plate ALZ ). With the dissolution of the Alzenau district in 1972, Erlenbach moved to the newly formed Aschaffenburg district (license plate AB ).
