Martin Hoffmann (media manager)

Martin Hoffmann (born October 8, 1959 in Nussloch ) is a German media manager.

Life

Hoffmann studied law in Saarbrücken , Lausanne and Hamburg and then worked briefly as a lawyer in Hamburg.

In 1994 he moved to Sat.1 as office manager, shortly afterwards as head of programming. In 1997 he became managing director of Sat.1 Business Affairs . In 2000 he succeeded Fred Kogel as Sat.1 program manager. Under his aegis as program manager, the afternoon and evening before were switched to reality and pseudo-reality formats such as court shows .

After Haim Saban took over the television station belonging to the Kirch group in the summer of 2003, Hoffmann was dismissed and replaced by Roger Schawinski . It was generally assumed that Hoffmann's friend Harald Schmidt therefore did not renew his contract for the Harald Schmidt Show on Sat.1 and that the show consequently ended in December 2003.

From 2004 to 2010 Hoffmann was CEO of MME MOVIEMENT AG , which produces a number of well-known television formats. In 2010 he switched to their supervisory board .

From 2010 to 2017 he was director of the Berliner Philharmoniker, succeeding Pamela Rosenberg . He was followed by Andrea Zietzschmann .
