Martin Hudec (born April 15, 1982 in Znojmo ) is a former Czech football player .
Career
At the age of six, Martin Hudec joined 1. SC Znojmo , then still TJ Roter Stern Znojmo (changed the name several times), and stayed with the South Moravian club for ten years. In 1998 the central defender moved from the then third division team to Olomouc for SK Sigma Olomouc . He played there in the youth until 2001 before moving to the senior division. In his second year Hudec came to his first short appearances in the Gambrinus Liga , the highest Czech division. In the 2003/04 season, the central defender had his breakthrough: He became a regular player and played all 30 league games, all but four over the full game.
The Czech was a fixture at Olomouc for another five years, then the German second division club TuS Koblenz showed interest in him looking for reinforcements and loaned him together with his club mate Melinho for the 2009/10 season. However, his debut was extremely unfortunate, after 22 minutes in his first second division game, he broke an ankle and fell out for a long time. He was only back on the field at the start of the second half of the season, but was hardly ever used after that.
For the 2010/11 season Hudec returned to the Czech Republic after TuS Koblenz was relegated from the 2nd Bundesliga. The new coach of TuS Koblenz, Petrik Sander , no longer planned with Hudec. In August 2010, Hudec joined FC Zbrojovka Brno . At the end of January 2011 he signed a contract with Karlsruher SC until the end of the season. This was not renewed and Hudec moved in the summer of 2011 to the second division VfL Osnabrück . He stayed there for 2 years before moving back to his home club 1. DC Znojmo in 2015. He only stayed there for half a year. Then Hudec moved back to Germany for SV Meppen. The Czech's contract expired there in the winter of 2016. Thereupon Hudec, who suffers from cartilage damage, ended his career.
