Martin Jílek (born November 3, 1956 in Kladno , Czechoslovakia ) is a former German - Czech ice hockey player who was active during his career for the Düsseldorfer EG and EHC Freiburg in the 1st Bundesliga .
Career
As a player
Jílek has been under contract with ERC Selb since 1981 , with whom he played in the 2nd League South. After two seasons he left the club and joined the Bayreuth Tigers . There he developed into a service provider. In a total of 65 games he played for the Tigers, he scored 200 points. In the summer of 1984, those in charge of the Düsseldorfer EG became aware of the trained striker and transferred him to the 1st Bundesliga for the 1984/85 season . In Düsseldorf he was part of the core team, but was unable to build on his achievements at his previous employers. So he left DEG after his contract expired at the end of the 1986/87 season and moved to the then second-highest German league, the 2nd Bundesliga , for EHC Freiburg.
With the EHC Freiburg he was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga in the 1988/89 season , then he left the EHC and joined the EHC Essen-West . He played there until 1994, before signing a contract with HC Vajgar Hradec during the 1993/94 season , who was then playing in the Czech extra league. In the following years he went on the ice for the EC Devils Königsborn, among others . In 2001 he ended his career at the age of 45 with the Dinslaken Kobras from the Regionalliga NRW .
As a trainer
In 1998, Martin Jílek was hired as a trainer by the regional division EHC Dortmund . However, he was only able to carry out this office for a few weeks, as he was released from his duties in the same year due to a lack of a coaching license .
