Martin Jordan (politician)
Martin Jordan (born October 17, 1897 in Markneukirchen , † May 19, 1945 in Plauen ) was a German Reichstag member of the NSDAP .
Life
After attending the community school in his hometown in Vogtland , Jordan went to the higher department of the public commercial college in Leipzig to take up a commercial apprenticeship. He took part in the First World War and became a deputy sergeant in English captivity, from which he was released in 1919. After returning to the Musikwinkel, he learned to make guitars and violins and, as a businessman, became a partner in a musical instrument manufacturing company in Markneukirchen. Jordan married in 1924.
In 1922 he joined the NSDAP. He became a local group leader, SA leader and city councilor in Markneukirchen, where the NSDAP soon became the strongest faction in the city council and caused several tumultuous scenes. Jordan rose to the position of Reich Propaganda Leader of the Hitler Youth and Gauredner . In 1929 Jordan became a district leader of the NSDAP and a district assembly member. In July 1932 he acquired a seat in the Reichstag for the NSDAP in constituency 30 (Chemnitz-Zwickau). He remained a member of the Reichstag until May 1945. After the National Socialists came to power, Hermann Göring appointed him to the Prussian State Council.
