Martin Kall
Martin Kall (born January 7, 1961 in Bergisch Gladbach ) is a German manager . From April 2002 to the end of 2012 he was chairman of the management of Tamedia AG , a listed media company in Switzerland .
Life
Kall studied history and economics at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau and at the London School of Economics and Political Science . In 1987 he graduated with a degree in economics. 1989 earned an MBA from Harvard Business School . He then worked for the Bertelsmann Group between 1989 and 1996 , most recently as Managing Director of Bertelsmann Fachinformation GmbH in Munich. From January 1997, Kall headed the Swiss publishing house Ringier Europa and from August 2000 also the Ringier Magazines division until he took up his position as CEO and successor to Michel M. Favre at Tamedia in 2002 . At the beginning of 2013, Kall resigned as CEO of Tamedia in order to realign himself professionally. In April 2013 he was appointed to the Board of Directors elected by Tamedia. At the beginning of June 2013, the shareholders 'meeting of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) elected him to the supervisory board, and at the end of July 2013 Kall was elected chairman of the supervisory board and shareholders' committee of the former WAZ media group, renamed Funke Mediengruppe GmbH & Co. KGaA .
Kall lives with his wife and son in Zollikon .
