Martin Karl Kohlmaier (born May 30, 1984 in Villach ) is a former Austrian basketball player .

Career

The 2.17 m tall and 115 kg heavy center played with the Wörthersee Piraten until 2002 and then with the Kapfenberg Bulls , with whom he won two championship titles in the Austrian A-League in 2003 and 2004 . In January 2006 Kohlmaier was awarded to the Spanish second division club CB Huelva , in March 2007 he played in the league finals for CB Tarragona . Then Kohlmaier moved to UBC St. Pölten for one season . In the 2008/09 season Kohlmaier played for the UB La Palma in the Spanish second division. In August 2009 Kohlmaier switched to the LTi Gießen 46ers . From January 2010 until the end of the 2009/19 season he played again for UBC St. Pölten.

In the 2010/11 season he was under contract with the Swedish first division club Uppsala Basket , followed by one season each at WBC Wels (2011/12) and UBC St. Pölten (2012/13). In 2013 Kohlmaier returned to Kapfenberg, celebrated the cup victory in 2014 and was named the best local player in the Bundesliga in the 2013/14 season. In 2015 he left Kapfenberg and ended his professional career. He joined St. Pölten in the second half of the 2015/16 season. With the UBC he won the championship title in the 2nd Bundesliga. After the season he retired.

Kohlmaier was a player in the Austrian national team .
