Carl Martin Erik "Rekkles" Larsson (born September 20, 1996 in Varberg ) is a Swedish e-athlete in the League of Legends discipline . He plays in the position of botlaner and is currently under contract with Fnatic .

Career

Rekkles was signed by the traditional European team Fnatic at the end of 2012, which won the League of Legends World Championship in 2011 . Fnatic won the first major offline tournament with Rekkles at DreamHack Winter 2012.

With the introduction of the Professional League Championship Series (LCS), for which Fnatic also qualified, Rekkles had to leave the team temporarily because, at that time, he was 16 years old, the league's minimum age of 17. He also missed the World Cup in September / October 2013 for the same reason. During 2013 he therefore played temporarily for other teams and won the DreamHack Summer 2013 and the Gfinity LAN in London with the Copenhagen Wolves , among others .

At the end of 2013 he returned to the Fnatic team. With Fnatic he won the LCS 2014 Spring Split and came second in the Summer Split. Fnatic thus qualified as one of three European representatives for the 2014 World Cup, which will take place in autumn. There, the team was eliminated in the group stage and finished 12th among 16 participants.

After the World Cup, it was announced that Rekkles is leaving Fnatic and will play for the Alliance team in the 2015 season . A few weeks later it was announced that as part of the LCS Sale of Sponsorships Rule introduced in 2015, the Alliance's League of Legends team will change its name to Elements . After a rather disappointing spring split in his new team, Rekkles switched back to his old team Fnatic.

In the summer of 2015, Rekkles won the LCS again with Fnatic. In the regular season, the team even remained completely without defeat (18: 0), which was a novelty in the league. Rekkles was also named Most Valuable Player of the Finals.

The following year Rekkles and his team could not convince and so Fnatic could not go to the Worlds for the first time since 2012.

In 2017 the team around Rekkles was rebuilt. In addition to rookie Rasmus "Caps" Winther, his team consisted of Paul "sOAZ" Boyer, with whom he had already played in 2014, and veterans Maurice "Amazingx" Stückenschneider and Jesse "Jesiz" Le. Initial difficulties led to the replacement of Amazingx. Mads "Broxah" Brock-Pedersen took over his role. The team was able to reach 3rd place in the Spring Split. The team maintained this good performance in the Summer Split as well, they were considered title favorites, but in the semifinals the Misfits team managed a surprise victory and so the team had to settle for third place again. This was followed by participation in the LoL World Championship 2017. After a 0-3 in the first week, the team was still able to reach the quarter-finals with 4-4. There they had to admit defeat to the Chinese team "Royal Never Give Up" with 1-3. At the 2018 World Cup, Fnatic reached the final relatively surprisingly, where they had to admit defeat to the Chinese team Invictus Gaming 3-0.
