Martin Lemke

Martin Lemke (born December 24, 1990 in Saxony-Anhalt ) is a German Islamist who joined IS in Syria .

Lemke comes from Saxony-Anhalt , lived in Zeitz , is a welder by profession, converted to Islam in 2012 and is said to have often heard the sermons of Imam Hassan Dabbagh in the Al-Rahman Mosque in Leipzig . He joined IS in 2014. Lemke called himself Nihad alias Abu Yasir al-Almani. Lemke is said to have become a member of the Hezbah , the moral police of the IS, and later a cadre of the Amnijat , the state security of the IS. In Rakka Lemke was allegedly involved in a stadium on executions and prisoners beheaded.

Lemke was married to three women. He and his two wives Leonora and Sabina fled the village of al-Baghuz Fawqani at the end of January 2019 . They were captured by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) near the Iraqi border on January 31, 2019.

Leonora Messing comes from Sangerhausen . She married Lemke at the age of 15. She criticized ISIS for having deceived her. She tried several times to escape ISIS. When she escaped, she had a two-week-old baby with her.

At the beginning of 2019, Lemke stated in interviews that joining the terrorist militia was a "short-circuit reaction"; now he offers himself with his insider knowledge as a key witness .
