Martin Mayerl (born January 17, 1970 in Lienz ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and farmer. Since 2013 he has been a member of the Tyrolean state parliament .

education and profession

Martin Mayerl attended elementary school in Dölsach between 1976 and 1980 and then switched to secondary school in Nussdorf-Debant , which he completed between 1980 and 1984. Mayerl then attended the agricultural college in Lienz from 1984 and 1987 , where he completed the agricultural master course from 1990 to 1991 and thus became an agricultural master. Mayerl has been working professionally as a farmer in Dölsach since 1990, and has also been the managing director of the Maschinenring Osttirol since 1993.

Politics and functions

Mayerl was elected to the local council in Dölsach in 1992 and took over the office of deputy mayor in 2010. Since 2008 he is chairman of the district Tyrolean Farmers 'Federation in the district of Lienz and was ahead of the state election nominated by Tyrolean Farmers' Federation as its candidate for the state election. Mayerl was then ranked second by the ÖVP in the Lienz constituency . With a preferential election campaign, Mayerl achieved 5194 votes in the state elections and was able to achieve 1757 more votes than the listener Andreas Köll . As a result, Mayerl replaced the previous member of the state parliament Köll and moved into the Tyrolean state parliament on May 24, 2013, while Köll had to move to the Federal Council. Mayerl subsequently became a member of the finance committee and a member of the committee for agriculture, forestry, transport and the environment. Within the party, Mayerl also took over the office of ÖVP district chairman after he moved into the state parliament, and he is also a board member of the Osttiroler Bote .
