Martin Prehn

Martin Prehn (born September 13, 1831 in Neustrelitz ; † August 18, 1899 in Hameln ) was a German engineer.

Life

Martin Prehn was born as the son of Johann Prehn, a soldier of the Wars of Liberation 1813-1815 and a member of the Strelitz Hussars . He attended secondary school in Neustrelitz and from 1847 studied mathematics and natural sciences in Rostock and Berlin. After a time as a private tutor, he joined the Guard Field Artillery Regiment in Berlin in 1853 and attended the Oberfeuerwerkerschule Berlin from 1855 to 1857, where he worked from 1858 to 1873 as a chief fireworker on the artillery examination committee. From 1873 to 1894, Martin Prehn was head of the Krupp company shooting range in Meppen . In 1892 he was appointed fireworks captain.
