Martin Raasch

Martin Raasch (born December 24, 1938 in Berlin ; † November 28, 2008 there ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Raasch trained in administration and became city inspector in 1963. He later became a department head at the Am Urban Municipal Hospital .

In 1955, Raasch became a member of the SPD and was elected to the district assembly of the Neukölln district in the 1967 Berlin election . From 1971 to 1975 he was the chairman of the SPD parliamentary group there. In the 1975 election he was elected to the Berlin House of Representatives, and in 1979 he was even able to win the direct mandate for the constituency of Neukölln 7. Raasch was elected district councilor for health in Neukölln in July 1981, and he held this office for eight years. He was then chairman of the board of the IDEAL building cooperative from 1990 until he retired in 2003.

Raasch was honored with the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon.
