Martin Schottenloher

Martin Schottenloher (born July 25, 1944 in Lindau ) is a German mathematician .

Career

Schottenloher studied mathematics at the University of Munich with a diploma in 1969. He received his doctorate in 1972 under Karl Stein in Munich ( dissertation : Analytical continuation in Banach spaces ) and completed his habilitation in 1975 in Munich.

After his assistantship he was professor in Munich from 1977 until his retirement in 2009. Among other things, he was visiting professor at the University of Kentucky in Lexington , the University of Rio de Janeiro , Trinity College Dublin , the University of Nice and the University of Hamburg .

Act

Schottenloher initially dealt with complex analysis and algebraic geometry . He was particularly interested in the mathematical modeling of physical theories. Since around 1995 he has been interested in various applications in industry and business using game theory , combinatorial optimization and artificial intelligence and their implementation using algorithms . In this context, he has participated in or initiated several start- ups.
