Martin Veyron

Martin Veyron (born March 27, 1950 in Dax ) is a French cartoonist and author.

Life

He studied at the École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs de Paris . After completing his studies, he founded the artist group Imagine with Jean-Claude Denis and Caroline Dillard . From 1977 he drew his first comic series Bernard Lermite (German Ludwig Lehmann ) for L'Écho des Savanes , which was continued in 1981 after the magazine was discontinued in Pilote . As an author he worked on Oncle Ernest with the draftsman Jean-Claude Denis and on the series Edmund le Cochon (Eng. Edmund, the pig , 1985 at Carlsen) for the draftsman Jean-Marc Rochette . Since the beginning of his career, he has been drawing cartoons and short stories for newspapers and magazines, including Cosmopolitan , Liberation , Paris Match and others.

In his 1985 film L'amour propre ne le reste jamais très longtemps , only the poster is reminiscent of the cartoonist.

Awards

Martin Veyron received the 2001 Grand Prix de la Ville d'Angoulême at the Festival International de la Bande Dessinée d'Angoulême .
