Martin Wein (journalist, 1975)

Martin Wein (born August 25, 1975 in Essen ) is a German journalist and author.

Life

Martin Wein grew up in Essen , Aachen , Diepholz and Wilhelmshaven . After graduating from high school, he studied history, political science and modern German literature and wrote his master's thesis on the history of private circuses in the Soviet occupation zone and the GDR . After completing his internship in the daily newspaper and working as an editor for the Wilhelmshavener Zeitung , he received his doctorate from the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung at the FernUniversität Hagen on the changing development of the cities of Wilhelmshaven and Rüstringen until 2006 . Since then, Wein has been working as a freelance journalist for various regional and national newspapers. As a non-fiction author, he dealt with the most common German family names in an eight-volume series. Other books are devoted to local historical topics. In the spring of 2011, his second novel “The Festival of Sacrifice” was published.
