Martin Ziegelmüller

Martin Ziegelmüller (born April 3, 1935 in Graben BE ) is a Swiss painter , draftsman and etcher .

Ziegelmüller was a student of Cuno Amiet and the school of André Lhote . He dealt with figure painting , landscape , still life and created murals . He dedicates himself to the relationship between man and machine. a. paints and draws in factories. In 1958 he received the Louise Aeschlimann scholarship and in 1959 the federal art scholarship . In 1969, Ziegelmüller drew the litho cycle Hommage à Harald Szeemann , a satire on the avant-garde Szeemann, with examples of Minimal Art . Between 1965 and 1987 and from 1996 onwards, surreal, apocalyptic city visions emerged. In 1993 the Center Pasqu'Art in Biel showed a retrospective of his prints, and in 1994 he was awarded the City of Biel's Culture Prize. With Heini Stucki he exhibited a cycle on the water mat in 1995 at the Kunsthaus Langenthal . The Kunsthaus Langenthal presented an overview exhibition in 2011 with the Kunstmuseum Bern . In 2015 he had an exhibition in the Center PasquArt on the subject of smoke from the witch fire .
