Martina Lechner (born July 14, 1978 in Thiersee ) is a former Austrian ski racer .

biography

At the Junior World Championships 1997 in Schladming , Martina Lechner came second in the combination. In 1998 she won the gold medal in the downhill and super-G at the Junior World Championships in Megève . From 1995 to 2005 she competed in the European Cup , won three races, came second five times and third five times. In the 1999/2000 season she was second in the overall ranking and third in the giant slalom ranking, and in 2002/03 she won the Super G ranking.

It had its first start in the World Cup on January 15, 2000 in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee . She achieved her best placement in December 2003 with sixth place in the Super-G of Lake Louise . In 2002 Martina Lechner became Austrian champion in giant slalom.

Lechner ended her sporting career in 2005. She is currently working at Eurosport as a co-commentator on World Cup races.
