Martinikirche (Ilversgehofen)
The Martinikirche is a Protestant church in the Erfurt district of Ilversgehofen . This is the village church of the later industrial suburb.
history
A church in Ilversgehofen was first mentioned in 1145. In 1362, the village church was raised to an independent parish.
The village church was built between 1456 and 1466 in the Gothic style. In the Thirty Years War it was destroyed, then rebuilt to 1664th The next destruction occurred in 1813 during Napoléon's retreat and persecution after his defeat in the Battle of Leipzig . Between 1818 and 1821, a classicist nave was added to the still existing tower, and it still exists today.
The church was consecrated to Saints Markus and Nikolaus, it only got its current patron through an error in the creation of the Prussian order of worship in 1824, in which it was accidentally written down as the Martinikirche, which was subsequently adopted.
organ
The organ of the Martinikirche dates from 1838 and was built by the organ builders Gebrüder Hesse in Dachwig . The mechanical grinding loading -instrument has 19 registers on two manuals and pedal . It was extensively revised in 2009 by the organ building workshop Rösel & Hercher in Saalfeld, with the play area being renewed

In 2001 the congregation of the Martinikirche and the congregation of the Luther Church merged to form a new congregation.
