The Mary Broadcast Band is a pop band from Vienna , Austria . The group was brought into being by the band leader Mary Lamaro, who has performed as "Mary Broadcast" since 2014. The formation became known through their live performances and their participation in the Austrian TV show Austria rocks the song contest 2012.

history

Mary Lamaro, who grew up in Braunau am Inn in Upper Austria , moved to Vienna after graduating from high school to study jazz singing , which she successfully completed. Meanwhile she founded the Mary Broadcast Band, now called "Mary Broadcast", which is now a 4-piece pop band. The band released four albums. The penultimate album Love Is Our Mission was partly produced by music producer Alexander Kahr . The last album was released on January 23, 2015 on Puppengold and is called "Dizzy Venus". With this album the band has taken a strong step towards their own identity.

In 2012 the Mary Broadcast Band was selected by a jury to participate in the Austrian preliminary decision of the Eurovision Song Contest . They competed with the soul ballad How Can You Ask Me , which entered the iTunes single charts at number 14 and the Ö3 single charts at number 53.
