Mary Browne
Mary Kendall Browne (born June 3, 1891 in Ventura County , California , † August 19, 1971 in Laguna Hills , California) was an American tennis player .
Career
Her greatest successes in tennis were in 1912 (victory against Eleonora Sears ), 1913 and 1914, the successes in women singles, doubles and mixed at the US Open in Newport . In the twenties of the twentieth century she won the doubles competition in Forest Hills again in 1921 and 1925 and the women's doubles in Wimbledon in 1926 . In 1957 he was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame .
In addition to her tennis skills, she was also successful in golf . In 1924 she was second at the US Women's Championships.
