Mary Lou is a four-piece indie rock band from Bavaria .
history
The members have known each other since their early teens as they all grew up in the same place. At a party, they decided to meet for a jam session . There were further meetings at which they wrote their first songs and formed a band. The group is named after a mutual friend of the band. The first gig took place in 2010 on the birthday of a friend.
In 2016 the band released their debut album May be April , which was recorded in the Superphonic Studio in Altenstadt and in the rehearsal room of the local brass band. Shortly after the release, the band was named Band of the Week by the Puls des Bayerischen Rundfunks . In December 2017, the group received the culture award of the Weilheim-Schongau district . Appearances at national festivals such as the Obstwiesenfestival and the Modular Festival followed .
In November 2018 the single Autumn Comes was released, after which the band was again voted Band of the Week by Puls. In the summer of 2019 they accompanied Joris as a support band on his Schrei-es-raus-Open-Air-Tour as a support band.
