Mary Jane Sears (born May 10, 1939 in Portsmouth , Virginia ) is a former American swimmer and 1956 Olympic bronze medalist .
Sears took part in the 1956 Olympic Games in Melbourne . In the 100 meter butterfly competition she won the bronze medal behind Shelley Mann and Nancy Ramey . In the competition over 200 meters chest she took 7th place.
In 1955, she won a gold medal (4 × 100 m individual medley, together with Coralie O'Connor, Betty Brey and Wanda Werner) and a silver medal (200 m chest) at the Pan American Games in Mexico City .
Her nephew is the actor Teddy Sears (* 1977).
