Masaharu Fukuyama
Masaharu Fukuyama ( Japanese 福山 雅 治 , Fukuyama Masaharu ; born February 6, 1969 in Nagasaki ) is a Japanese musician , actor , record producer , radio presenter and photographer .
Career
At the age of 18, Fukuyama went to Tokyo to pursue a career in show business . In 1988 he won the audition at the Amuse agency . He first attracted attention when he played an important role in the film Hon no 5g ( ほ ん の 5g) the following year .
With his first single Tsuioku no Ame no Naka ( 追憶 の 雨 の 中 ) Fukuyama began his career as a singer in 1990. In 1991 he made his debut as a radio host on the weekly program ROCK AGE , the radio station fm yokohama . In the same year he also appeared for the first time in the series Ashita ga Aru Kara ( あ し た が あ る か ら ) on TV station TBS.
In 1993 the breakthrough came for Fukuyama. He played the protagonist's brother in the series Hitotsu Yane no Shita ( ひ と つ 屋 den の 下 ). The series became a big hit and achieved a very high audience rating with an average of almost 28.4% . In 1995 he reached number 1 in the Oricon charts with his 10th single HELLO . The single became the first million seller for a Japanese maxi single .
However, Fukuyama took a break from his acting / music career. Between 1996 and 1997 he was active as a travel photographer. He also held his first photo exhibition.
The actor made his comeback in 1998 when he starred in the series Meguri Ai ( め ぐ り 逢 い ). In 1999 he played a perpetrator in the successful crime series Fruhata Ninzaburo ( 古 畑 任三郎 ).
For his 10th anniversary as a singer, his 15th single Sakura Zaka ( 桜 坂 ) sold two million copies. The place referred to by the title of this song, Sakurazaka Hill, is located in Ota-ku, Tokyo, and has become a popular tourist attraction. In the same year, Fukuyama started his own radio show Fukuyama Masharu no All Night Nippon Saturday Special: Tamashii no Radio ( 福山 雅 治 の オ ー ル ナ イ ト ニ ッ ッ ポ ン サ タ デ デ ー ス ペ シ ャ ル ・ 魂 の ラ ジ オ ). The show ran successfully until 2015.
In 2003 Fukuyama played the lead role with Nanako Matsushima in the series Bijo ka Yajuu ( 美女 か 野 獣 ). His 18th single Niji / Himawari / Sore ga Subete sa ( 虹 / ひ ま わ り / そ れ が す べ て さ ) stayed at number one on the charts for 5 weeks.
He continued his successful career in TV series in 2007 with Galileo ( ガ リ レ オ ). The main character Manabu Yukawa and his key line Jitsu ni omoshiroi ( Eng . Very interesting ) became a social phenomenon. Fukuyama formed the band KOH + with his co-star Koh Shibasaki and released the title song Kiss shite (KISS し て). He also participated in the composition of the soundtrack. The series became a hit and was successfully filmed in 2008 under the title Yogisha X no Kenshin ( 容 疑 者 X の 献身 ).
In 2010, Fukuyama played a real person for the first time in the NHK history series Ryomaden ( 龍馬 伝 ): Ryoma Sakamoto. He also released his 20th anniversary album ' THE BEST BANG !!'. His 27th single Kazoku ni Narouyo / fighting pose (家族 に な ろ う よ / fighting pose), released the following year, stayed on the Oricon charts for over 82 weeks.
The continuation of the Galileo series was recorded in 2013. He also starred in the film adaptation of Manatsu no Hohteishiki ( 真 夏 の 方程式 ). In the same year he starred in the Cannes award-winning film Soshite Chichi ni Naru (そ し て 父 に な る). Fukuyama was nominated for best actor for the Japanese Academy Award for this work.
On September 28, 2015, Fukuyama announced that she would marry actress Kazue Fukiishi. That news caused the Amuse Inc. share price to plummet the next day. This phenomenon was later called "Fukuyama Shock".
