Amuse ( Japanese 株式会社 ア ミ ュ ー ズ , Kabushiki-gaisha Amyūzu , English Amuse, Inc. ) is a major Japanese talent agency based in Shibuya , Tokyo . She represents numerous musicians , actors , idols and other artists, as well as athletes and models . The listed company produces television and radio programs , commercials and films , organizes events, provides patent attorneys and develops music software.

history

After the successful pop group Candies broke up in 1978, their manager Yōkichi Ōsato decided to leave Watanabe Production and set up their own talent agency. The Southern All Stars were among the first artists to sign Amuse . In the 1980s, Amuse expanded abroad; it took over Brainstorm Music in California and opened an office in New York . With the establishment of the subsidiary Amuse Cinema City Inc. the entry into the film business took place. In 1991 Amuse expanded to Hong Kong and in 2000 to South Korea . In 2008 the label A-Sketch was founded, a joint venture with the telecommunications group KDDI , which took over all activities in connection with the production and sale of sound carriers. The Amuse Museum in Asakusa , which specializes in traditional textiles and ukiyo-e , has existed since 2009 . In 2012, Amuse opened a branch in Shanghai to expand into the Chinese market.
