Masaru Akiba ( Japanese 秋葉 勝 Akiba Masaru ; born February 19, 1984 in Yamagata Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .

Career

Akiba learned to play football in the youth team of Montedio Yamagata . He signed his first contract in 1999 with the Montedio Yamagata. The club played in the second highest league in the country, the J2 League . In 2008 he was runner-up in the J2 League with the club and was promoted to the J1 League . At the end of the 2011 season, the club was relegated back to the J2 League. He completed 360 league games for the club. In 2015 he moved to league rivals Zweigen Kanazawa . For the club he completed 42 league games. In 2016 he moved to league rivals FC Gifu . In July 2016, he returned to Kanazawa Branches. For the club he completed 21 league games. At the end of 2017 he ended his career as a football player.
