Master Jazz Recordings

Master Jazz Recordings was an American jazz label that existed in the 1960s and 70s.

History of the label

Over a period of five years, the Master Jazz Label recorded a number of swing- oriented pianists in solo settings. These included Earl Hines , Claude Hopkins , Cliff Jackson , Jay McShann , Cliff Smalls , Sir Charles Thompson , Sonny White and Teddy Wilson , but also barely recorded pianists such as Keith Dunham, Georgia Hearn , Cliff Smalls and Sonny White. Recordings by Harold Ashby , Don Byas , Eric Dixon , Roy Eldridge , Coleman Hawkins , Rex Stewart , Buddy Tate , Norris Turney , Booty Wood and Snooky Young have also appeared on the label . The piano solo recordings were re-released on the reissue label Mosaic Records in a 4-CD edition, as well as an album by Ram Ramirez .
