Matías Toma , full name Matías Toma Pérez , (born February 14, 1995 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

Depending on the sources, 1.75 meters or 1.77 meters tall defensive player Toma has been in the squad of the professional team of Liverpool Montevideo at least since the 2014/15 season . In that second division season he made his debut on September 13, 2014 in a 3-0 away win against Club Atlético Torque in the Segunda División , when he was ordered by coach Alejandro Apud into the starting line-up. By the end of the season, when his club rose to the highest Uruguayan league, he completed 15 second division games and scored one goal. In mid-September 2015, he was loaned to the second division Miramar Misiones . In the second division season 2015/16 he was used nine times (no goal) in the second-highest Uruguayan division. He then returned to Liverpool Montevideo.

National team

Toma made his debut in the Uruguayan U-20 national team on June 12, 2014 under coach Fabián Coito in a 2-1 win in a friendly against Paraguay . He was a member of the Uruguayan squad at the U-20 South American Championship 2015 in Uruguay. Uruguay took third place. In the run-up to the U-20 South American Championship that year, the Uruguayan Football Association (as of January 12, 2015) had seven international matches (no goal) in this age group for him. In the tournament itself he came to a personally goalless use.
