Matías Velázquez , full name Matías Exequiel Velázquez Maldonado , (born May 16, 1992 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

The 1.80 meter tall defensive player Velázquez was in the ranks of the Uruguayan second division Huracán FC in the 2013/14 season and played 21 games (no goal) in the Segunda División in that season . In July 2014 he moved to the first division club Danubio FC . There he made his debut on November 2, 2014 under coach Leonardo Ramos in the 0-0 game against Tacuarembó FC in the Primera División , when he came on for Alejandro Peña in the 56th minute . In total, he played eight times (no goal) in the Uruguayan top division and four times (no goal) in the 2015 Copa Libertadores in the 2014/15 season . In the 2015/16 season he made eight first division appearances (no goal) and one (no goal) in the 2015 Copa Sudamericana .
