Mathews Kunnepurayidom Francis OCD (born December 8, 1944 in Narianganam , Kerala , India ) is Vicar General in the Vicariate Apostolic Northern Arabia .

Life

Francis joined the religious order of the Discalced Carmelites in, put on April 24, 1965 his profession from and received on 21 December 1972, the priestly ordination . In 1975 he completed his master's degree in theology. From 1977 to 1981 he served in the Punjab Mission and as secretary to the Bishop of Jalandhar . He then served from 1981 to 1984 in the Vijayapuram diocese as vicar of the Christ the King Church in Muvattupuzha. From 1987, he was rector of the Carmelaram Theology Seminary in Bangalore for three years and the rector of Carmel Hill Philosophical Seminary in Trivandrum for another three years . From 1993 to 1996 he was Superior of the St. Teresa Monastery in Ernakulam , then until 2001 Superior in the San Joe Ashram in Potta, Chalakudy and finally Superior of the Carmelite Mission in Kuwait. Until 2005 he served as pastor in the parish of Our Lady of Arabia in Al Ahmadi. After brief stays in India and Belgium, he returned to Kuwait in 2008 and became Vicar General of the Apostolic Vicariate of Kuwait in 2009. There he is responsible as coordinator for the believers of the Syro-Malabar Church .
