Mathias Jung is a French actor .

Life

Jung studied at the acting school of the National Theater Strasbourg ( École supérieure d'art dramatique du Théâtre national de Strasbourg ). In 1984 he began his acting career and has since worked in numerous roles on French theater stages , in operas and musicals . He worked with Jean-Luc Lagarce , André Richard , Ingo Metzmacher , Claudio Abbado and Robert Wilson , among others . Since 1988, Jung has also appeared in French film and television productions, including four feature films by Jacques Rivette . He starred alongside Alain Delon and Elsa Lunghini in Casanova's Return , alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in Total Eclipse - The Affair of Rimbaud and Verlaine and in The Love of Charlotte Gray with Cate Blanchett in the leading role.

Jung also works as a writer. In addition to three of his own plays, he also adapted other works for the theater, such as Arden of Faversham , a play from the time of Elizabeth I of England and Un crime by Georges Bernanos .
