Mathias Wibault (born April 16, 1985 in Bonneville ) is a French cross-country skier .

Career

Since 2004, Wibault has mainly participated in the Alpine Cross-Country Cup. He has achieved seven podium positions so far and finished in seventh place in the 2011 season. He made his World Cup debut in December 2008 in La Clusaz . There he achieved 41st place in the 30 km mass start race. He got his first World Cup points in December 2011 in Davos with 15th place in the 30 km freestyle. This was also his best result in a World Cup race so far. At the Tour de Ski 2012/13 he reached 37th place in the overall ranking. His best placings at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2013 in Val di Fiemme were 29th place over 15 km freestyle and ninth place in the relay. In January 2014 he won his first race at the Alpine Cup in Chamonix over 20 km freestyle. A month later he won the 45 km classic at the Marciagranparadiso in Cogne . Since 2012 he has also competed in the Worldloppet Cup . He won the Transjurassienne in 2014 and was seventh overall in the 2015/16 season.
