Matthew "Matt" Jarvis (* 1984 in Richmond , British Columbia ) is a professional Canadian poker player .

Personal

Jarvis comes from Surrey in the Canadian province of British Columbia and studied business administration . He lives in Vancouver .

Poker career

Jarvis learned poker playing with friends and reading various poker books. He plays online under the nickname Jarfish . Jarvis has been taking part in renowned live tournaments since 2008 .

His first major tournament was the Main Event of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in July 2010 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas , in which he participated as one of 7,319 players. There Jarvis reached the final table with the fifth largest chip stack , which was played as part of the November Nine from November 6, 2010. He took eighth place and received more than one million US dollars in prize money . In the 2011 WSOP Jarvis won a tournament in the variant No-Limit Hold'em and a bracelet and more than 800,000 US dollars prize money. At the end of November 2014, Jarvis won a high roller tournament in Kahnawake and secured more than $ 100,000 in prize money.

In total, Jarvis has earned more than $ 2.5 million playing poker in live tournaments.
