The Matterhorn Glacier is a small glacier in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It lies on the edge of the north face of the Taylor Valley immediately west of the Matterhorn in the Asgard Range .
The American glaciologist Troy L. Péwé (1918–1999), who visited the region around the glacier in 1957, named the glacier after the world-famous Matterhorn in the Valais Alps .
